We love what we do, in every role, and are proud to be a part of a family business.
Alice Moffitt, DMDDr. Alice grew up in Springfield, OR, where her father was a dentist (Dr. Richard L. Moffitt) and her uncle was a long-time family physician (Dr. Robert A. Moffitt). She graduated, with valedictorian honors, from Thurston High School in 1977. Concertmistress for the Eugene Junior Symphony, Dr. Alice studied violin with Lawrence Maves, Professor of Violin at the University of Oregon. She was active in the Obsidian Explorer Post Scouts.
Dr. Alice attended the University of Oregon, where she met her husband and dental practice partner Dr. Paul Newman. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the UO in 1981. After graduating from the Oregon Health Sciences University Dental School in Portland in 1985 with Dr. Paul, they entered the US Naval Dental Corps, Dr. Alice as a Lieutenant. Dr. Alice enjoyed multiple specialty rotations in clinical dentistry during her five years at the Pearl Harbor Dental Clinic in Hawaii. In 1992 Dr. Alice and Dr. Paul started their private practice in Eugene, taking over the general dentistry practice of Dr. David Robathan. Dr. Alice volunteered at the Children’s Dental Clinic. An outdoor enthusiast, she enjoys skiing, hiking, backpacking and camping. Her love of the violin continues, taking in music performances and going to as many concerts as possible. |
Dr. Alice Moffitt, my dentist for more than 20 years, is extremely skillful, thoughtful, and conscientious. She makes dentistry as comfortable for the patient as can be, and she and all her staff are friendly, experienced, and attentive. I recommend Alice to anyone who is "between" dentists and wants a great one!

Paul Newman, DMDDr. Paul hails from Tualatin, OR, and was an active member of a Boy Scout troop that took monthly camping and backpacking trips—rain, sleet or shine. He graduated from Tigard High School in 1974 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Oregon in 1980, having worked his way through college with seasonal jobs in the US Forest Service. After graduating from the Oregon Health Sciences University Dental School in Portland in 1985 with Dr. Alice, they joined the US Naval Dental Corps. Dr. Paul had extensive training in oral surgery, which he performed almost exclusively during his time at Pearl Harbor Dental Clinic in Hawaii. Since moving to Eugene and returning to private practice in 1992, Dr. Paul volunteered monthly for the Children’s Dental Clinic.
Dr. Paul’s hobbies include cultivating Bonsai trees as a member of Eugene’s Bonsai Club, watercolor painting, and drawing. He enjoys hiking, backpacking, skiing, and camping with Dr. Alice. |
Drs. Moffitt and Newman have kept me chewing pain free for the past 25 years, through cracked teeth, chips, splits, and cavities. They’re both everything you want in a dentist: careful, efficient, knowledgeable, gentle, and supremely skilled. And they’re supported by an equally capable and caring staff. Everyone is so friendly, I actually enjoy going to the dentist! How twisted is that?

When I’m not caring for your teeth at the office, I can be found spending time with my little ones and my absolutely amazing fella, Gerald. Powerlifting is my passion, and I’m a sucker for corny dad jokes. I’m also a proud Pagan! I look forward to meeting you!
